Merko is a Turkish processor of tomatoes into the raw material for the food industry world-wide. Merko was established in 1982 and is proud to have served its customers and suppliers for 30 years.
Merko processes tomatoes into tomato paste and diced tomato for industrial applications. In 2022, Merko completed an investment for A9, A10, A12 diced and whole peeled tomato filling line and started to supply catering and food service sectors too.
The company is at the forefront of introducing HACCP and Total Quality to every product line, and in-house training programmes are run on a regular basis in partnership with Universities.
Units in the group have successfully completed audits from NFPA in the USA, BRC from the UK and ISO 9001:2000 and HACCP accreditation are kept to date.
The company is also at the forefront of GAP (Good Agricultural Practice) initiatives, especially in partnership with Unilever, providing Unilever with 100% sustainable products. The philosophy of acting as producer, but thinking as the consumer, has pervaded the company’s thinking to this day.
